Rules & Policies

Everyday and in every way be safety smart! School rules help everyone to enjoy a safe learning and playground environment.

Quail Summit students are expected to:

  1. Listen carefully & follow directions.
  2. Walk in all areas except the playgrounds grass area. 3.Show pride in our school by keeping buildings and grounds litter free.
  3. Respect students in classrooms - be quiet in hallways.
  4. Trees, the park equipment, and the park banks are off limits.
  5. Follow school game rules and the game referee.
  6. Settle differences peacefully and use Conflict Managers. Talk out problems. Think before you act.
  7. Play safely - no rough play, no contact sports, and no sharp objects.
  8. Take turns and share.
  9. When the bell rings, stop playing, drop and freeze. Wait quietly and look for the teacher’s signal.
  10. Follow posted lunch, game and school rules.
  11. Use classroom pass when leaving class during school hours.
  12. Check in at office for any late arrival or early check-out.
  • Students will stay away from the classroom area prior to school and during recesses. Permission must be given from classroom teacher to help another teacher.
  • Students will check out and back in with the office when leaving the grounds for ANY reason.
  • Students must have parent permission to ride their bike and/or go home for lunch.
  • Students will leave knives and other unsafe objects at home along with radios, C.D. players, hard balls and trading cards. Any equipment brought from home must be identified with students name and can be brought only with teacher’s permission.
  • Students will not ride bicycles, skateboards or scooters on the school grounds before, during or after school. Bicycles are to be locked in the bicycle’s rack. Bicycle riders are advised to wear safety helmets.
  1. Students will stay off hills and away from puddles and mud.
  2. Students will leave rocks, bark, sticks and other dangerous objects alone.
  3. Students will not chew gum or eat on the playground. Snacks are to be eaten at the lunch tables.
  4. Students will take turns on equipment and in games and will count to 25 swings.
  5. Students are to sit and swing straight. No standing, jumping out of or twisting the swing.

Our school playground and the equipment are for everyone’s use; therefore, no one is excluded from playing in a game.

School rules will be observed for all games. Students who cannot follow the school rules will receive a warning. Those students who show repeated disrespect for school rules and school personnel will be given a citation and could be removed from playground or suspended for an extended period. Parents will be contacted when any student has repeated violations of school rules.
